Fat cell 'Messages' may reveal hidden heart risks in obesity

NCT ID NCT06776081

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at tiny particles released by fat cells, called adipocyte-derived extracellular vesicles (Ad-EVs), and how they relate to blood vessel function in people with obesity. Researchers will compare normal-weight and obese adults, then test whether weight loss improves blood vessel health. The goal is to better understand why obesity raises heart disease risk.
