Scientists probe hidden links between hunger, parasites and TB
NCT ID NCT03598842
Summary
This study aimed to understand why some people exposed to tuberculosis bacteria get sick while others don't. Researchers in India examined how malnutrition and worm infections affect the immune system's ability to fight TB. They studied 786 household contacts of TB patients, measuring immune responses and health markers to identify risk factors for disease progression.
