The program includes individual, group, and family sessions over 8-12 weeks, aiming to reduce suicidal thoughts and attempts.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- SUSTAIN intervention (behavioral therapy sessions)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide an effective, scalable suicide prevention model for women in low-resource settings.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study with only 96 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention may not reduce suicide risk more than usual care.
