Summary
This study will test if a brief form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can help prevent suicide in adults who have recently attempted suicide or had strong suicidal thoughts. About 150 people will be randomly assigned to either this brief CBT or standard supportive therapy for 12 weeks. Researchers will track suicide attempts, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts for up to 6 months after treatment ends.
