First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) can reduce negative symptoms of schizophrenia, such as lack of motivation, social withdrawal, and reduced speech. Forty adults with schizophrenia will receive either real or sham (fake) stimulation over 10 days. Researchers will measure changes in symptom severity and cognitive function right after treatment and again one month later.
