Gum treatment may unlock heart health secrets
NCT ID NCT07591844
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a deep dental cleaning (called non-surgical periodontal therapy) can change levels of a substance called asprosin in the blood of people who have both stable angina and gum disease. Asprosin is a protein that may play a role in heart health and inflammation. Researchers will measure asprosin before and three months after the cleaning in 60 adults to see if there is a connection.
