New hope to ease pain for critically ill children without heavy opioids
NCT ID NCT06994442
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to manage pain in children who need breathing machines. Researchers are testing if common non-opioid medications (IV Tylenol and Toradol) can reduce pain and decrease the need for strong opioid drugs. About 644 children aged 2 months to 17 years will be randomly assigned to receive these medications or a placebo while on the ventilator.
