First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This early-stage trial will test whether a wearable ultrasound device can safely stimulate the retina and help restore vision in people with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) or retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Five participants will receive short bursts of ultrasound while reporting what they see. The goal is to see if this non-invasive approach is safe and could improve visual function.
