Eye video could replace needles for brain pressure checks

NCT ID NCT04046523

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a video camera that records the back of the eye can estimate pressure inside the skull without needles, anesthesia, or touching the eye. About 90 adults who already have a standard pressure monitor in place will participate. If successful, this could lead to a safer, simpler way to check for dangerous brain pressure.
