Chest belt could replace risky heart catheters in ICU
NCT ID NCT07385963
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-invasive monitoring method for critically ill patients in the ICU. Researchers want to see if a special chest belt using safe electrical signals can accurately measure heart and lung function, matching the accuracy of the current standard method which requires inserting a catheter into the heart. The study will enroll 19 adult ICU patients who are already on a ventilator and have the standard catheter, comparing measurements from both devices over two days.
