Finger cuff could predict heart failure risk from deadly lung clots

NCT ID NCT04855370

Summary

This study aimed to test if a non-invasive finger-cuff device could safely and effectively monitor heart function in real-time for patients hospitalized with serious pulmonary embolism (a dangerous lung blood clot). The goal was to see if the device's readings could help doctors better predict which patients were at highest risk of heart complications and see how they responded to treatment. The study was withdrawn before any patients were enrolled.
