Summary

This study tests a new way to deliver radiation for head and neck cancers that may reduce common side effects like dry mouth and trouble swallowing. About 70 adults with cancer of the mouth or throat will be randomly assigned to standard radiation or a newer technique that angles the beams more precisely. The goal is to see if the new method improves quality of life three months after treatment.
