Nighttime oxygen dips linked to confusion in elderly hip fracture patients

NCT ID NCT04007432

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether low oxygen levels during sleep (nocturnal hypoxia) after hip fracture surgery in people over 70 is linked to delirium (sudden confusion) and other hospital complications. Researchers will monitor 70 patients using oxygen sensors and check for delirium with a standard test. The goal is to better understand these risks to improve care for older adults after hip surgery.
