Ovarian cancer study aims for zero stomas after bowel surgery
NCT ID NCT07213193
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether it is safe to avoid creating a temporary stoma (a bag on the belly to collect stool) after removing part of the bowel during surgery for advanced ovarian cancer. About 395 women at low risk for bowel leaks will be followed to see how often leaks happen without a stoma. The goal is to reduce the physical and emotional burden of stomas while keeping patients safe.
