Scientists test supercharged cord blood cells as new weapon against tough lung cancers

NCT ID NCT05334329

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new type of cell therapy for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has spread and no longer responds to standard immunotherapy. Researchers are giving patients specially modified immune cells (called NK cells) taken from umbilical cord blood, which are designed to better find and kill cancer cells. The main goals are to find a safe dose and see if this approach, given with or without an existing immunotherapy drug (atezolizumab), can help control the cancer.
