Could a heart drug boost radiation for brain tumors in lung cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT06238882

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding nitroglycerin patches to standard radiation therapy improves outcomes for people with advanced lung cancer (with a specific EGFR gene change) that has spread to the brain. About 74 participants will receive either radiation alone or radiation plus nitroglycerin. The goal is to see if the combination shrinks brain tumors better and helps people live longer without the cancer growing.
