Blood drug levels may predict recovery after brain bleed
NCT ID NCT07065903
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tracks 500 adults in Canada and the US who have had a brain aneurysm bleed and are taking the drug nimodipine. Researchers will measure how much of the drug gets into each patient's blood and see how that relates to their recovery 90 days later. The goal is to understand if different doses or forms of nimodipine affect outcomes, which could lead to more personalized treatment in the future.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- nimodipine
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to personalized nimodipine dosing for patients with brain aneurysm bleeds, potentially improving recovery and reducing disability.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly test a new therapy. Results may show associations but not prove cause and effect.
