Glow-in-the-dark doorframes may cut dementia falls

NCT ID NCT05973448

First seen May 08, 2026 ยท Last updated May 08, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding low, soft lights around bathroom and entry doorframes can help prevent falls at night in people with Alzheimer's or related dementias living in assisted living. About 335 residents will take part, and researchers will compare how many falls happen with the lights on versus off over a year. The goal is to see if these simple visual cues make it safer for residents to get up at night.
