Newborn sickle cell screening could save lives in côte d'Ivoire

Summary

This study tests whether screening newborns for sickle cell disease and starting comprehensive care early can reduce illness and death. About 120 babies up to 6 months old will be tested and, if positive, receive antibiotics, vaccines, and other treatments. Researchers will compare their outcomes to past data from the region.
