New lens aims to match top cataract implant in vision quality

NCT ID NCT07571694

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares a new domestic trifocal lens (D615L) to the Zeiss AT LISA tri 839MP for people having cataract surgery. 90 adults with age-related cataracts will receive one of the two lenses and be followed for 6 months to measure vision at different distances. The goal is to see if the new lens is as good or better than the established one.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

trifocal intraocular lens (D615L)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that the new D615L lens provides similar or better vision at all distances after cataract surgery, offering a more affordable option.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 90 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The new lens might not perform as well as the established Zeiss lens.
