Surgeons test new stomach surgery to stop severe heartburn

NCT ID NCT06783751

Summary

This study is testing a new version of a common weight loss surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) to see if it can better control severe acid reflux disease (GERD). Researchers will compare the new surgical technique to the standard one in 44 patients who already have GERD. They will measure acid levels and quality of life for up to a year after surgery to see if the new method works better.
