Breakthrough blood test could save lives by spotting deadly shock faster

NCT ID NCT07203833

Summary

This study aims to see if a protein in the blood called Vasn can help doctors better diagnose septic shock, a life-threatening infection complication. Researchers will compare Vasn levels in 144 ICU patients with septic shock to those with other types of shock. The goal is to find a faster, more accurate way to identify who needs urgent antibiotic treatment and to predict how severe their illness might become.
