New PET tracer could sharpen colon cancer staging
NCT ID NCT07272772
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a new type of PET scan that uses a special tracer called 18F-FAPI-74 to see if it can find colon cancer spread more accurately than current scans. 100 people with colon cancer, either at first diagnosis or with suspected return, will get this scan. The goal is to improve how doctors detect cancer in lymph nodes and other organs, which could help guide better treatment decisions.
