Could a single scan spot hidden blood clots?

NCT ID NCT04022915

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new type of PET scan designed to directly detect fresh blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and legs (deep vein thrombosis). The goal was to see if this new imaging method could provide a clearer picture of clots compared to current tests. Only six adults with recently diagnosed clots were enrolled to evaluate the safety and initial performance of the scan.
