Summary
This study tested whether an investigational drug called MR-107A-02 could safely and effectively relieve acute pain after hernia repair surgery. It involved 579 adults who had just undergone the operation and were experiencing moderate to severe pain. The drug was compared against a placebo (inactive pill) and an existing pain medication (tramadol) to see which provided better pain relief and potentially reduced the need for opioid rescue medication.
