New shot could help fight addiction cravings longer

NCT ID NCT05620940

Summary

This early study is testing two new long-acting injection versions of a medication called naltrexone, which is used to help manage opioid and alcohol dependence. The study will involve 40 healthy male volunteers to see how the body processes these new injections compared to the existing approved version (Vivitrol®). The main goal is to check the safety and how long the medication stays in the body, not to treat addiction in this phase.
