Pioneering trial tests less invasive fix for leaky heart valves

Summary
This study aims to see if a new, less invasive procedure to replace a leaky aortic heart valve is as safe and effective as traditional open-heart surgery. It will involve over 1,000 patients with significant aortic regurgitation, where blood leaks backward into the heart. Researchers will compare the new catheter-based procedure, which avoids opening the chest, to standard surgical replacement.
