One-Minute test could end the guesswork for millions with chronic heartburn

NCT ID NCT07227506

Summary

This study is testing a new, FDA-approved device called Mivu that measures the lining of the food pipe (esophagus) during a routine endoscopy. The goal is to see if this quick, one-step test can accurately diagnose conditions like GERD (chronic acid reflux) and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) faster and at a lower cost than current methods, which often require multiple tests and can delay treatment. Researchers will enroll 50 adults with chronic heartburn or swallowing problems who are already scheduled for an endoscopy.
