Smart zap: new device aims to fix footdrop in stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT07189819

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new, smarter electrical stimulation system to help people who have had a stroke walk better. The system uses a computer to adjust stimulation in real time, aiming to correct footdrop (when the foot drags). About 20 participants will compare this new system to a standard one during treadmill and overground walking. The goal is to see if it is safer, more comfortable, and more effective at improving gait.
