Breath and blood tests could revolutionize asthma diagnosis
NCT ID NCT05992519
Summary
This study aimed to see if two simpler tests could accurately diagnose asthma, potentially replacing more complex hospital breathing tests. Researchers tested 123 people referred by their family doctor for suspected asthma. They compared a handheld breath test (measuring exhaled nitric oxide) and a standard blood test (measuring eosinophils) against the current, more difficult diagnostic method.
