Brain-Boosting workouts could keep seniors on their feet
NCT ID NCT07070336
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a series of neuroathletic exercises—including eye muscle training and balance drills—can improve walking speed, reduce fall risk, and boost cognitive function in healthy adults aged 60 to 80. Participants will do these exercises twice a week for 12 weeks under a physiotherapist's guidance. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug approach can help older adults stay mobile and mentally sharp.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
neuroathletic exercise
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, drug-free exercise program to help older adults stay mobile, avoid falls, and keep their minds sharp.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises are supervised and low-risk, but benefits may be modest or not last long-term.
