Nerve block shot tested to calm Veterans' trauma symptoms

NCT ID NCT07473505

Summary

This study is looking at whether a medical procedure called a bilateral cervical sympathetic block (BCSB) can help reduce trauma-related symptoms in Special Operations veterans. The procedure involves injecting medication near nerves in the neck to calm the body's stress response. Researchers will track 75 veterans for up to a year to see if the nerve block alone, or combined with structured therapy, improves symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and traumatic brain injury.
