New combo approach aims to ease pain after gallbladder surgery

NCT ID NCT07653490

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a nerve block (erector spinae plane block) combined with low-flow anesthesia can improve recovery and reduce opioid use after laparoscopic gallbladder removal. 72 adults aged 18-65 will be randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block plus low-flow anesthesia or standard care. The main goal is to see if patients feel better 24 hours after surgery, with less pain and fewer side effects.
