New nerve block could cut pain meds after heart surgery

NCT ID NCT05833048

Summary

This study is testing if a specific nerve block, given after heart surgery, can help control pain better. Researchers want to see if it reduces the need for strong opioid painkillers and lowers patients' pain scores. The study will involve 75 adults having planned heart surgery, who will be randomly assigned to receive the nerve block or not.
