First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested two types of nerve blocks (PENG block and AQLB) to see which provides better pain relief after total hip replacement in people aged 65 and older. The goal was to reduce the need for morphine, a strong painkiller. 93 participants were randomly assigned to receive one of the two blocks before surgery, and their pain and morphine use were tracked for 24 hours.
