Doctors test 'Nerve Zap' to ease failing hearts

NCT ID NCT07403058

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a new, minimally invasive procedure can help control symptoms in people with a specific type of chronic heart failure (HFrEF). Up to 50 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real procedure, which uses a catheter to calm a nerve in the abdomen thought to worsen heart failure, or a sham (placebo) procedure. The main goals are to check if the procedure is safe and to look for early signs that it might improve heart function and quality of life.
