New catheter treatment for heart failure put to the test

NCT ID NCT07403058

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tests a new procedure that uses a catheter to treat a nerve in the chest, which may help people with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Up to 50 patients will be randomly assigned to receive the real treatment or a sham procedure, and neither they nor their heart doctor will know which they got. The main goals are to check safety and see early signs of benefit, not to prove long-term effectiveness.
