Immunotherapy before surgery shows promise for certain colorectal cancers

Summary
This study tests whether giving the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab before surgery can help people with a specific type of colorectal cancer (called MMR-deficient or MSI-high). The drug helps the immune system fight cancer cells. The goal is to see if this approach is safe, improves the chance of removing the entire tumor, and delays or prevents the cancer from coming back. About 88 participants will receive up to 9 weeks of pembrolizumab before their planned surgery and will be followed for at least 3 years.
