Ultrasound study reveals hidden neck vessels that could complicate Life-Saving breathing procedures
NCT ID NCT06637319
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at 50 healthy adults to find out where major blood vessels lie in the neck, specifically in the area where doctors might need to make an emergency cut to help someone breathe. Using ultrasound, researchers measured how deep and wide these vessels are and how far they are from the midline. The goal is to help anesthesiologists avoid accidentally cutting a blood vessel during a rare but life-saving emergency procedure.
