New program aims to break the link between unemployment and chronic disease
NCT ID NCT04815278
Summary
This study tested a two-part program designed to lower the risk of developing chronic diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure in unemployed adults. It worked by adding a health prevention program to existing job training services and by training workplace supervisors to be more supportive of new hires. Researchers measured changes in stress, weight, and blood pressure over a year to see if the combined approach helped.
