Heart surgery ventilation showdown: which machine breathes better?
NCT ID NCT03217305
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at two different ways to help people breathe after heart surgery using a ventilator. It compared standard pressure support with a newer method that uses the patient's own breathing signals. The goal was to see how each method affected lung function, like air distribution and oxygen levels. Twelve stable patients participated, and the study is now complete.
