First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looked at whether being in a room with natural light after heart surgery can help prevent delirium—a sudden confusion that often happens in the first day after surgery. Researchers compared 448 adults who had heart surgery and stayed in an ICU with either natural or artificial light. They measured how many people became confused and needed medicine for agitation.
