Storytelling may lower blood sugar in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT07307430

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests if a structured storytelling education program, added to usual care, helps adults with type 2 diabetes improve their blood sugar control. About 226 adults with high blood sugar will be randomly assigned to either standard care or standard care plus the program, which includes two in-person sessions and four short phone calls over three months. The main goal is to see if the program leads to a greater drop in HbA1c (a key blood sugar measure) compared to usual care alone.
