NCT ID NCT07307430

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a structured storytelling education program can help adults with type 2 diabetes improve their blood sugar control. About 226 participants will either receive standard care or standard care plus two face-to-face storytelling sessions and four brief phone calls over three months. The main goal is to see if the program lowers HbA1c levels, a key measure of blood sugar control.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Structured narrative education program (behavioral intervention)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to help people with type 2 diabetes better manage their blood sugar through improved self-care.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 226 participants. The program may not produce meaningful improvements in blood sugar, and results may not apply to all diabetes patients.
