First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a tablet called nalfurafine hydrochloride can safely reduce moderate-to-severe itching in people undergoing peritoneal dialysis for kidney failure. About 93 participants will take the tablet daily for 4 weeks, and researchers will measure changes in itch scores using a simple 0-to-10 scale. The goal is to find a better treatment option for this common and distressing side effect of dialysis.
