Autism trial tests cheap supplement for stubborn symptoms

Summary
This study tests whether N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a well-tolerated nutritional supplement, can reduce restricted and repetitive behaviors in children with autism. About 144 children aged 3 to 12 will receive either NAC or a placebo for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in behavior and brain chemistry using MRI and EEG.
