Cancelled before anyone took part.

Expanded access (not trials)

Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.
Approved
The treatment has been approved, so it is available normally rather than through this programme.

Summary

Researchers are developing and testing MybYte, a smartphone tool that offers personalised nutrition advice to teenagers aged 12 to 18 who are undergoing cancer treatment. In the first phase, about 15 teenagers help refine the tool through interviews and feedback. In the second phase, about 15 newly diagnosed teenagers use MybYte for one week each month over six months, answering short daily prompts about eating, appetite and treatment side effects. The study checks whether the tool is practical, acceptable and helpful alongside routine nutrition assessments.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
MybYte, a smartphone-based personalised nutrition tool for adolescents undergoing cancer treatment
What this could lead to
If it works, MybYte could give teenagers with cancer a practical way to manage eating problems and get nutrition advice tailored to their treatment. It could also shape how hospitals support nutrition during cancer care.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study with about 30 teenagers, so it cannot prove the tool improves health. Teens may find daily prompts burdensome, and the app may not fit every treatment or eating problem.
