Doctors prescribe music to calm cancer surgery fears
NCT ID NCT05982184
Summary
This study tested whether listening to music at home before colon cancer surgery could reduce patients' anxiety. 116 patients were randomly assigned to either listen to music three times daily for a week before surgery or receive usual care. Researchers measured anxiety, pain, stress, and recovery to see if this simple, cost-free approach could help patients feel calmer before their operation.
