Brain wave beats and 3D music tested to soothe dementia agitation

NCT ID NCT07626944

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether listening to personalized music enhanced with binaural beats (sound patterns that may influence brain waves) or spatialized (3D-like) audio can reduce behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, such as agitation and anxiety. Researchers will enroll 120 older adults in assisted living, some with dementia. Participants will listen to different versions of personalized music for two weeks, and researchers will track changes in symptoms and caregiver distress.
