Sound therapy soothes anxiety in young adults
NCT ID NCT05442086
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether listening to calm music combined with low-frequency beats (theta waves) can reduce anxiety. 92 young adults with mild anxiety listened to either the music-plus-beats or plain pink noise for about 25 minutes. Researchers measured brain activity, heart rate, stress hormones, and self-reported anxiety before and after. The goal was to see if the special sound treatment leads to greater relaxation than noise alone.
