Can a mushroom pill counteract the damage from cigarette smoke?
NCT ID NCT07316400
Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement made from a type of mushroom could help reduce some of the harmful chemical effects of cigarette smoke in the body. For 8 weeks, 200 adults who were exposed to smoke took either the mushroom supplement or a placebo pill. Researchers measured changes in blood markers related to stress, inflammation, and nicotine exposure to see if the supplement made a difference.
