Scientists probe patient stem cells in quest for Muscle-Wasting cure
NCT ID NCT06077734
Summary
This study aimed to see if muscle stem cells taken from people with muscle wasting conditions (like cancer-related weight loss or age-related muscle loss) are healthy enough to be used in a future treatment. Researchers took small muscle and blood samples from patients and healthy volunteers to grow and test the cells in a lab. The goal was to gather information to see if using a patient's own cells could be a viable treatment strategy later on.
